Our Guiding Principles

All decisions rest with each person supported and his/her family/friends.
There is a strong commitment to our members, their family and friends. Our small numbers were established so that personal connections may flourish and we remain committed to maintaining that spirit.
It is recognized that people have the right to make self-determined and informed choices and that that right should be respected by everyone.
Each person’s individuality, their unique gifts, talents, preferences, and differences will be honoured.
Community is the only appropriate place to be and any resources required by each person supported to remain in his or her various communities will be found.
Human and civil rights will be respected.
To make sure we are doing what we say we are doing, we will have internal and external ways of measuring the quality of our service.
We will ensure that natural supports from the community are the first priority and option when securing supports for people.
All human and financial resources will be treated in a respectful and dignified manner that ensures flexibility, accountability, creativity and compassion.
